As a school effectiveness company, Teachscape is dedicated to improving student outcomes in every classroom in every school. Using our proven methodology and our online multimedia resources, we design professional learning experiences to help instructional leaders boost achievement. Together, we empower instructional leaders to become even more proficient at understanding, promoting, leading, supporting, and sustaining effective teaching practices among their teachers.
Teachscape professional learning creates sustained changes in teaching practice and improves student outcomes. Our proven methodology reflects and builds upon cognitive and adult learning research, organizational change theories, effective assessment practices, and the experience we have gained serving schools and districts across the country.
Unlike professional development companies that measure their work in services delivered, online courses completed, or coaching days spent in the district, Teachscape measures our success the way schools do-- in improved professional learning, increased capacity of instructional leaders, effectiveness of practice, and ultimately, in student achievement.
Teachscape services are unique to each engagement. Typically, there are four general approaches used when working with schools.
- Programs of Study are an intensive, robust package of year-long services focused on a single content area designed to both deepen content knowledge and build specific skills which will improve teacher practice.
- Institutes are three days of professional learning opportunities on specific topics, supported by semester-long access to online resources. Institutes are designed to build a common vocabulary and a common understanding of research-based instructional practices in an area of interest.
- Classroom Walkthrough is an approach to collecting classroom observation data, designed to enrich and expand the work of professional learning communities, as they seek to incorporate best practices into daily instruction and improve student achievement.
- Online Resources Licensing is for districts that are high-functioning and have strong, internal coaching and professional learning capacities. These districts can simply license the online resources and professional learning technologies needed to support their ongoing work.
