Effective Teaching Starts with a Common Language
Demanding. Subtle. Nuanced. Vital to student success. Teaching is a complex activity. When those involved – educators, administrators, observers – share a common language and a clear understanding of effective teaching, the profession is empowered.
Developed in partnership with Charlotte Danielson, the Framework for Teaching Effectiveness Series provides schools and districts with a complete online solution for training teachers on the value, the structure, and the content of the new Framework for Teaching Evaluation Instrument.
The Framework for Teaching Effectiveness Series is self-guided, online training and features master-scored benchmark and rangefinder videos that provide formative feedback through interactive exercises. The Series teaches educators to apply the Framework to their own practice, making self-reflection and professional development more powerful.
Self-Paced and Video-Rich Online Learning Resources
The self-paced, online training includes foundational training on the Framework’s construct and content and in-depth Framework component modules which focus on applying the Framework to teaching practice. Used together, the Framework for Teaching Effectiveness Series improves teachers’ understanding of the Framework for Teaching and scaffolds their use of it to confidently discuss and improve their own teaching practices based on reliable, valid evidence.
The Framework for Teaching Effectiveness Series includes 2 sets of learning modules:
1. Laying the Foundation
- Orientation
- Understanding the Framework for Teaching
- Applying the Framework for Teaching
2. Framework Components
- 8 individual learning modules which explore the eight observable components in Domains 2 and 3 of Danielson’s Framework for Teaching
