Online Video Sharing Platform and Learning Community

Teachscape Reflect Video Is a Collaborative Video Sharing and Scoring System

Teachscape Reflect Video uses a robust online software platform to support professional growth, improve reflective learning, and strengthen teaching practice. With Reflect Video, educators can capture a complete lesson or lesson segment from any video-recording device. Video is stored securely and easily accessed via Teachscape's web-based software to review, comment, and share the video with colleagues anytime, anywhere.

Teachscape Reflect Video delivers an easy-to-use classroom observation system and facilitates a virtual professional learning community anchored in a common definition of teacher effectiveness. The system comes preloaded with Charlotte Danielson's New Framework for Teaching Evaluation Instrument; districts can also upload their own framework as the basis for feedback.

Next Generation Tools, Born out of Research

Teachscape field-tested key components of the Teachscape Reflect Video hardware and software in the Measures of Effective Teaching (MET) project, when it was hired by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to capture more than 23,000 lessons from more than 3,000 teachers in six states. The video capture solution engineered by Teachscape for the MET project involved a panoramic digital video camera that automatically captured, compressed and uploaded to the web digital video and audio of classroom teaching.
