Effective Instruction
Research and experience show that effective teaching is critical to improving student performance. The Effective Instruction Institutes support and enhance the impact of teaching on student learning.
Teaching with High Yield Strategies
Despite the best efforts of teachers and instructional leaders across the country, achievement levels in many schools and districts are stagnant, and achievement gaps remain a concern. The single most effective way to address the variation in outcomes is to improve teaching practice in every content area in every school. The High Yield Strategies Institute is designed to do this by enhancing the skills of instructional leaders and teachers to identify, understand, and apply proven, research-based instructional strategies as an integral part of their daily practice.
Instructional Decision Making and Planning
This institute has two overarching goals: 1) To deepen the understanding of the research-based instructional approaches and strategies that inform and scaffold standards-based planning and instructional decision making; and 2) To enhance the capacity of instructional leaders to implement, support, and sustain an effective lesson-planning model to improve teaching practice and student learning.
